The
purpose of this research study was to investigate appropriate features
concerning hardware requirements and those related to the courseware development
of computer-assisted instruction authoring system for elementary school
teachers in Bangkok Metropolis. Samples consisted of 72 elementary school
teachers in Bangkok Metropolis. They all received a one day training workshop
pertaining to computer-assisted instruction authoring system packages.
The questioners were used as research instruments. Data were analyzed
by frequency by count and percentage.
The findings revealed that the appropriate features of computer- assisted
instruction authoring system for elementary school teachers are as follows:
1. Appropriate
computer hardware model should be those already exist in school.
2. Two sets
of program levels are suggested for users to use to meet their needs.
3. Appropriate
computer-assisted instruction authoring system should be able to run under
either DOS or Windows operating system.
4. Computer
- assisted instruction authoring system should provide several programming
levels.
5. Features
such as color, font of characters, and drawing tools should be adequately
provided.
6. Appropriate
graphics that can be manipulate should also be included in a program.
7. Samples
of computer-assisted instruction lesson should also be available.
8. Ideal computer-assisted
instruction authoring system should be able to provide sound and/or moving
image. This can be done by connecting computer hardware to sound and/or
video equipment.
