          The purposes of the study were : (1) to analyze format, concerning components and features of posters and folders for disseminating AIDS knowledge for adolescents in Bangkok Metropolis, and (2) to analyze the content in posters and folders concerning cause, contagiousness, prevention, symptom, treatment and counseling and blood analysis centers of AIDS. The population employed in this study were 24 posters and 22 folders for disseminating AIDS knowledge published in Bangkok in 1992. The findings were :
          1. Most of the posters consisted of heading and subheading. One color and on letter – size were employed in either headings, or subheadings, or copies. They were : heading : ? “ or 1” ; subheading : ? “ or ?” ; and copy : ?” . Colors of letters used were : heading : warm tone, subheading : white ; and copy : black. Color of letter was contrasted with background color. Headings were designed to inform or to persuade, while subheadings and copies were designed to educate. Most illustrations were colored cartoons. Most colors were not natural color but they were in the same tonality : warm tone color 25-50%, cool tone color 50-75%. The size of most posters were 15''x21''. Illustration occupied greater area than written messages. The posters were designed to exhibit the following design principles : balance, contrast , unity, harmony, logos, preventive concept. Point of attention was elicited through the use of an illustration.
          2. Most of the f orders consisted of heading, subheading and copy. One color land one letter-size were employed in either headings, or subheadings, or copies. Type of letters used were round-headed letters and the letter size were as followings: heading : 36, 48-60 points, or ?” ; subheading : 18-24 points ; copy : 14 points. Colors of letters used were as following: heading; warm tone, subheading and copy : black. Color of letters was contrasted with background color. Heading, subheading, and copies were designed to inform or persuade, and educate. Color Cartoons were used in the illustration. Most colors in the illustration were natural color in the same tonality which were: warm tone color 25-50%, cool tone color 25-50%. Most of the folders had front and back cover with total of 6 pages. Most of the contents were descriptive and completely presented within each subheading in the following orders: cause, contagiousness, prevention, logos, preventive concept.
          3. Only one concept was presented in each poster while four concepts were mostly presented in each folder.
