          The purpose of this research were to survey the Thai word processing programs, to analyze forms and performance of Thai word processing programs , and to survey the opinions of producers and users on Thai word processing programs.

The findings were as follows :
          1. The popular Thai word processing programs were CU Writer, Sahaviriya Word, Rajvithi Word PC , Microsoft Word f or Windows, and IRC standard Word. The most Widely used Thai word processing programs was CU Writer. The reason of using this program was the users friendly. Most users used for typing letters, notes, mail merge and mailing lists.
          2. All Thai word processing programs were having the same performance. There were the basic functions for general uses, operation procedures, displays and the supporting services. Both the producers and the users accepted that the users had not use the word processing programs at the full capacity .
          3. Most producers foresaw that the trend of developing Thai word processing programs for commercial profit would be low, except the public domain program, cu Writer.
          4. Most of the users thought that Thai word processing programs should be the programs that be able to do multi-tasks, and friendly and convenient to use.
