          The purpose this study was to survey the state and problems of the utilization of instructional folk media of elementary school teachers in the Central region. The folk media in this study were local culture. Two hundred and seventy-five elementary teachers in three school locations: urban, district, and rural areas, were participated in this study.

The findings indicated that :
          1. The folk media in the central provinces were mostly tools for farming and house-hold equipment, which could be categorized as tools and equipment , followed by activities categories. However, when the folk media were being categorized as instructional media, the tools and equipment were out numbered the activities.
          2. The teachers were seldom used instructional folk media, the teachers indicated that they used tools and equipment as the most, followed by the activities.
          3. The problems of using the instructional folk media were lack of media for the subject content, and the lack of recommendation on king the folk media from the expert.
