The
purpose of this research was to study the utilization of science
teacher at the Secondary Education level. The subject were 15 recipients
of Distinguished Science Teacher Awards, during 1982-1992, from the Science
Society of Thailand under the Royal Patronage.
The findings were as follows:
1. The media
were selected with congruent to the lesson context,
Availability and low cost. The subjects mostly used the teaching media
available
In schools that provide facts. They also considered sizes and colors of
media and learning ability of students.
2. The media
were prepared in advanced. They read academic journal
regularly. They also provided supplementary reading for students at the
division academic center. They explained steps of using media to the students
in advanced and encouraged students to participate in instructional activities.
3. The popular
media were real object, video program, and teachers
Arranged extra-curriculum activities for students so that students could
apply
The knowledge to their daily life. They frequently held science project
Activities that allow students to participate according to their own interests
The teacher used laboratory in every class, and let students participate
in
Utilization and storage of teaching media.
4. The media
were evaluated by students’ learning achievement and the
Quality of media by means of students’ responses.
