          The purposes of this research were to study and to compare the needs for academic resource center of Thammasat university at Rangsit campus as perceived by faculty and students. The sample used in this study comprised 64 faculty members and 294 students. A survey questionnaire was designed to indicate their needs for computer network. Types of media and rooms, physical facilities and consultative services.
The major findings were as follows;
          1. The faculty rated the need for the computer network between Thammasat University at Rangsit campus and others universities as the highest.
          2. The students of the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication perceived the computer network between Thammasat University at Rangsit campus and Taprachan as the most critical needs.
          3. There were significant differences at the .05 level in the perceptions of needs of the faculty. The Faculty of Science and Technology rated the need for media production service and auditory material higher than other faculty.
          4. There were significant differences at the .05 level in the perceptions of the need of the students. The students of Faculty of liberal Arts rated the need for projected materials; graphic materials; auditory materials; programmed instruction; projected equipment higher than other students.
